An annual festival that celebrates natural hair and handcrafted natural products. It celebrates African culture and ancestry. Founder of the parade and festival’s goal is to award single-parent homes scholarships to attend The Institute of Ancestral Braiding that equips students with hair braiding skills for creating another stream of economic/income to help them build/create/increase finances for their families.
This is a great way of pooling together to empower others with skills that will enhance their lives by helping them create wealth with what's in their hands. The art of braiding and twisting can also be therapeutic according to many who braid, weave and twist on a regular basis-whether they're hair stylist, moms or just individuals who love to do take care of other's hair naturally. A solute to Isis and the other participants and sponsors for this event.
